The ICGC presents VISSIR 4: The new governance tool for official geoinformation
The Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC) presents VISSIR 4, the new version of the geoinformation viewer of Catalonia.
This platform is a tool open to everyone that allows you to consult, visualize and combine the official geoinformation of Catalonia on a map. VISSIR 4 is the result of our continuous work in the governance of geoinformation and is consolidated as the reference tool for consulting official data on the Catalan territory.
VISSIR 4 reaffirms the Government's commitment to coordinated, transparent and accessible territorial data management.
The leadership of the ICGC in territorial data
The new update of the VISSIR centralizes access to geospatial data from multiple official sources, both from the Generalitat de Catalunya and other Catalan public administrations. This integration guarantees that the information is accurate, updated and standardized, thanks to the use of common information labels and compatibility with the European INSPIRE standards.
Thus, we ensure a coherent and homogeneous vision of the territory, since you can access the information defined in the Cartographic Plan of Catalonia, a document that establishes the planning and coordination of official cartographic production in the country.
Evolution and usability
In addition, the new update shows a technological and functional evolution compared to the previous version. More thematic layers are included, and the base maps are also expanded. Likewise, the new interface is more intuitive, faster and adapted to mobile devices.
Among the new features, the improvement of the intelligent search engine, the integration of external data and the option to export personalized maps stand out.
The new VISSIR 4 has been designed to be an essential tool for different public administrations, companies, universities and citizens in general.
