The Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI) together with the Generalitat de Catalunya are organizing the 29th Science Week, which will be held from 8th to 17th November throughout Catalonia. Science Week has the support of numerous institutions and entities in the field of research and the dissemination of science and technology.
Science Week is aimed at all audiences and attendance and participation in the various activities is free. The aim of this event is to bring science and technology closer to the public and promote scientific vocations among the youngest.
The guiding theme of this year's edition will be ethics in science and technology. Scientific discoveries and technological innovations have a great impact on society. This fact raises the need to consider the ethical limits in research and its application in areas such as, for example, biotechnology, artificial intelligence and also natural resources, such as energy or water, among others.
The Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC) joins this edition of Science Week (SC24) by offering the following activities in person:
- 2nd edition of the exhibition "Geological landscapes", which can be visited from November 8th to December 5th, 2024. The ICGC inaugurates the second edition of the exhibition "Geological landscapes" with the title: A photographic look at the geodiversity of Catalonia. The author, Jordi Lluís Pi, offers us a compilation of 50 new photographs through which he transports us to the discovery of the beauty and value of the geodiversity of our country. In this edition we also have the collaboration of the geologist and popularizer Isaac Camps, who has prepared the explanatory texts of the photographs that contribute to enjoying the landscapes through his geological story.
On Thursday, November 7th, at 5 p.m., the opening ceremony will take place. This is the link to register.
Location: ICGC headquarters in Barcelona.
