Evolució dels fets delictius coneguts, resolts i detencions per àrea bàsica policial des del 2011 fins a l'actualitat

The Crime Map Viewer of Catalonia is an interactive tool developed by the ICGC in collaboration with the Mossos d'Esquadra. This viewer allows you to graphically consult the crime data recorded in Catalonia from 2011 to the present, broken down by Basic Police Areas (ABP).

The main objective of this viewer is to provide transparency and bring the country's criminal reality closer to citizens. By visualizing this information on a map, it helps to better understand and analyze criminal dynamics and the daily work of police forces. This initiative is part of the commitment to the Law on Transparency and Access to Public Information, which urges administrations to open data to facilitate its reuse and generate knowledge and added value.

This viewer, which covers the entire territory of Catalonia, is aimed at both the general public and professionals and researchers interested in the field of security and criminology.

Technical data

The data used in the viewer comes from the official records of the Mossos d'Esquadra, available through its open data portal. These include detailed information on known criminal acts, resolved acts and arrests made. For the technical development, advanced web technologies have been used that allow the interactive visualization of 2D and 3D maps, as well as the graphical representation of data by month.
