NEOARCHEAN ERA (2 800-2 500 Ma)
From Greek néos (new) and arkhaîos (archaic).

Main events: the Great Oxygenation event marks the presence of oxygen in the atmosphere.

Lifeforms: the proliferation of cyanobacteria communities, forming laminar structures called stromatolites, produced large amounts of oxygen.

Paleoenvironment: margins of the continents with large platforms of shallow and warm water.
