Coastal Viewer
Visualize and analyze coastline data, coastal orthophoto and bathymetry
The Coastal Viewer integrates information on the morphology of the coastal zone available at the ICGC. It includes bathymetry, orthoimagery and coastline.
The viewer allows the interactive comparison of information acquired on different dates in any area. The main objective of the Coastal Viewer is to allow consultation of information on the morphology of the coast that has been acquired within the framework of the Coastal Information Service (SIDL) project with the collaboration of public administrations and research entities.
The information shown in the viewer is the result of the collaboration between the ICGC, the Catalan Office for Climate Change and the Directorate General for Environmental Policies and the Natural Environment through the Marine Habitats Map of Catalonia project. The ICGC is the entity responsible for the acquisition, compilation and generation of the data, the technical development and the implementation of the viewer.
The viewer is aimed at public administrations, citizens and companies, offering basic data for studies and projects related to coastal management and territorial planning.
The Coastal Viewer covers the entire coast of Catalonia in a strip of between 500 m and 1 km on the emerged coast and up to a depth of 50 m..
Available information
The viewer integrates the ICGC's experience in observing the territory with the acquisition of images and the generation of orthoimages and derived products. The viewer shows different layers of information on 4 possible base maps (gray orthophotomap, gray topographic, standard orthophotomap and hybrid orthophotomap). It allows you to visualize the temporal evolution of the coastline and compare the different coastlines and orthophotos.
