The Map Library of Catalonia, before uploading to the web some collections of maps, photos and scientific instruments, has now faced a new challenge: to offer a (enllaç no vinculat).

This project wants to maintain the concept of atlas, so digitized pages, and also covers and spine, can be consulted as if it were the original.

First atlas chosen is one of the oldest documents of the Map Library of Catalonia: the Claudius Ptolemy's Geographia, edition published by Sebastian Münster in Basilea in 1542. It has 446 pages and contains 48 maps of all the World.

The project has been carried out in collaboration with ADHOC Synectic Systems. Silverlight is needed to view the atlas.

We hope to add other works to this digital library soon.
