Cookies policy

What are cookies?

When we provide services, we want to make them easy, useful and reliable. Where services are delivered on the Internet, this sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your device (computer, tablet or mobile phone). These include small files known as cookies, which cannot be used to identify you personally, as they are only associated with an anonymous user and their device.

Therefore, among other things, cookies allow a web page to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their device and, depending on the information they contain and the way they use their device, they can be used to recognize the user (not the person).

There are several types of cookies. The ones that require informed consent by the user are analytical cookies and advertising and affiliation cookies, except those of a technical nature and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user.

Types of cookies

  • According to the organization that manages the cookies:

    • First-party cookies: Cookies that are sent to the user’s device from a computer or a domain managed by the own publisher, and from which the service required by the user is provided.

    • Third-party cookies: Cookies that are sent to the user’s device from a computer or a domain that is not managed by the own publisher, but by another organization that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

  • According to the cookie expiration time:

    • Session cookies: Cookies that are designed to collect and store data during the user’s browsing session.

    • Persistent cookies: Cookies that store data in the user’s device and can be accessed and processed during a period of time defined by the cookie manager (from a few minutes to several years).

  • According to the data purpose:

    • Technical cookies: Cookies necessary for the use of the website and the provision of the contracted service.

    • Customization cookies: Cookies that allow the user to access to the service with predefined features, such as language, type of browser, regional configuration, etc.

    • Analytics cookies: Cookies that collect information about the website use.

    • Advertising cookies: Cookies that collect information about preferences and personal choices of the users.

    • Affiliate cookies: Cookies that allow tracking the visits coming from other websites, with which a website has established an affiliation contract.

How to control cookies?

You may exercise your rights to access, rectification, erasure, data portability, restriction of processing, objection, and withdrawal of your consent, by managing the cookies that are stored in your browsers, by means of the options offered for this purpose.

Although we do not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information about you, you can set your browsers to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when websites (from the ICGC or others) set or access cookies, or to remove existing ones. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of these websites may become inaccessible or not function properly.

Therefore, you can restrict, block and delete the cookies installed in the browser you use, by configuring the options offered:

Why we use cookies?

We use cookies to distinguish you from other users, to improve information and services we provide you, and to your make access easy:

  • We measure how many people are using our services, to make these services more available and to guarantee their performance.

  • We analyse anonymised data to understand how users interact with the services so we can optimize them.

  • If you say so, we keep your username and password so that you do not have to enter them each time you access a web service or application.

Which cookies do we use?

Google Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics cookies (therefore, third-party cookies) in all ICGC web sites and web applications. These cookies allow us to access information related to the contents you visit most and how you get there, or features that you use the most, which helps us to optimize the services we offer you.
The cookies we use have, in any case, a temporary nature, with the sole purpose of making browsing more effective. In no case, do these cookies provide, by themselves, personal data.
