How to convert an MrSid to TIFF or JPEG?

To convert MrSid files to other image formats such as TIFF or JPEG, we suggest using the GeoViewer application from Lizardtech.

 

How to transform with GeoViewer

  1. In the top menu, select File > Add layer > Local layer...
  2. In the window that opens, select the MrSid files to transform.
  3. If asked for the reference system or map projection, select Native.
  4. In the top menu, select Tools > Export > Export map...
  5. In the window that opens,
    • In the Format drop-down list, select the format you want to obtain.
    • In the Resolution drop-down list, select Full resolution.
    • Check the Write world file box, so that an additional text file with the image georeferencing is generated.
    • Click Browse to select the folder where you want to save the resulting image.
    • Click OK.
