We close the winter season in Catalonia with more avalanches but with low danger
- From the ICGC we record a winter season with more avalanches than usual but with a degree of danger below average.
- March and April concentrate the greatest avalanche activity due to late snowfalls.
The winter season in the Pyrenees of Catalonia has recorded more than 300 avalanches, compared to the 250 on average. Despite this increase, the degree of danger has been low and the avalanches, in general, of small size.
In the area of the Western Pyrenees, the thickness of snow on the ground has been slightly deficient, and in the Eastern Pyrenees, in general, it has also been below normal until March. From this month onwards, however, the abundant snowfalls have normalized the situation and increased the thickness of snow. In fact, the months of March and April have recorded the most avalanches in the entire season.

Despite the low danger, there were two fatalities due to medium to large slab avalanches, in shady areas and above 2,400 m.
From the ICGC we issued the last Avalanche Danger Bulletin on May 27, 2025, after having done so daily throughout the season for the seven areas of the Pyrenees.
