Extinction rate: 75% of species.

Affected lifeforms: about a fifth of the genera of marine life, including conodonts and orthoceratids disappeared. More than the half of the plant genera and many terrestrial reptile genera also disappeared.

Main causes and consequences: massive volcanism episodes that result in a very severe climatic change that affected the dynamics of the continents, oceans and the atmosphere.
