The Avenue of Geological Times represents, in a linear and scaled way, the entirety of the International Chronostratigraphic Chart. It divides the history of the Earth into Eons, Eras and Periods and uses million years (Ma) as a unit of measurement of geological time.

Signs on the pavement:

• Artificial concrete slabs. Designed according to the original colors of the Geological Time Chart. They represent the Eons, the Eras and the Periods.
• Period spike. Registrations of period names and corresponding age in millions of years (Ma). They simulate the "Golden Spikes", the representation of a Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP), established by the International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS).
• Date spike. Registrations age in millions of years (Ma). They represent the time periodically.
• Engraved symbols. Inscriptions of the main events of the history of the Earth and life.
• LED luminaires. They represent the five great mass extinctions.
• Natural cobblestones. They represent the materials that outcrops in the Pyrenees in each period.

Representation scales:

• Precambrian Eon (high section of the promenade): a step of 80 cm equals 27,6 Ma.
• Phanerozoic Eon (low section of the promenade): a step of 80 cm equals 8,5 Ma.
