Extinction rate: 75% of the species.
Affected lifeforms: disappearance of nearly a quarter of all living families and a half of all genera. The tentaculites disappeared and the number of corals, brachiopods, trilobites and ostracods were drastically reduced.
Main causes and consequences: global cooling, sea level drops, anoxic global events and changes in the circulation of ocean waters.
