MapICGC GL JS Library
The ICGC open code library for viewing maps and geoinformation with ease and precision
MapICGC GL JS is the computer library that provides an integrated and easy-to-implement solution for using the maps and geoinformation of the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia on your website.
This tool is based on MapLibre GL JS, a JavaScript library that allows you to create interactive maps for web pages.
MapICGC GL JS allows you to integrate various ICGC products into your web viewers, such as base maps, historical satellite images and hyper-realistic 3D models.
Using this, developers can create applications that allow users to explore the territory of Catalonia in detail, view historical changes in the country and access accurate and up-to-date geographic information. It can be used in a wide variety of projects, from urban planning to environmental engineering, including emergency management and academic research. The demonstrator viewer will help you understand all the various possibilities.
The library can be used in the following ways:
- Node Package Manager (NPM), is a package manager for JavaScript that facilitates the installation and management of libraries and programming languages.
- Content Delivery Network (CDN), is a network of servers distributed around the world that allows you to access libraries directly from the Internet, without needing to install them locally.
Furthermore, MapICGC GL JS can be easily integrated into different web development frameworks such as React, Svelte or Vanilla JavaScript, offering flexibility to developers to create interactive and personalized web applications with detailed and precise maps. Additionally, MapICGC GL JS uses the HTTPS internet security protocol.
This library is open code, so the code is available for everyone and can be easily modified.
