[Start of transcription] Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya Pintamaps World is a simple web tool designed to allow users to create their own maps, while playing with the geographic information of the world. What isn't touched isn't learned. The tool allows you to navigate geography, observe it and at the same time create your own map. When dealing with vector til·les technology in the maps allows you to change the colors of a series of levels. In this case we are modifying the continental shelf. Here we have chosen this gray. Now let's change the color of the sea. Well paint it a greenish blue, almost grey. For exemple, this color here. As the user makes changes the screen reflects them. In the same way we can change oceanic trenches, the countries of the world... We can choose colors that begin as yellow. We can also change the transparency and as a final color we can choose a bluish tone and the stylized the different countries of the world on our map. The way Pintamap works we never find two countries that are touching each other that are the same color. In the region of Catalonia where the cartographic and geological Institute is located, you can emphasize the color of the area or simply make it transparent, so that the entire state is shown. With a level of zoom bringing us closer, we can see the most important cities. We can modify the urban areas so that they appear brightly colored. We can modify the roads, and in the same way we can transform the color of rivers, lakes, etc. We can also activate and deactivate place names or change them from different sources. The resulting map of Pintamaps can be printed within specific areas and in its entirety. Once generated, the image is transformed into a PNG format and it can be opened or viewing. In this case here's the world map that we have created. We've pinned the map's, a child can hang the results on his or her bedroom wall, and be proud of making his own map. On the other hand it also lets you upload and download the generated style in case you want to retrieve, modify or even change the orientation of the map. As they are vector tiles you can rotate the place-names or give it some slant if you want to emphasize a certain point of view. Hide the place names and try to guess each place what the city is. Play to anticipate. When we move the cursor we see what the city is called, what is the place name that's hidden behind each of these qüestions, written both in Catalan and in its own oficial version. This is the tool that we offer the world students to play with the world's geography, while they play at being cartographers and learn about the world's places. Thank you for matching!
