Geoindex - iCoast Project
Viewer of the European project iCoast, for the implementation of operational morphodynamic predictions
The iCoast Geoindex viewer characterizes and maps the most relevant coastal hazards and risks (disasters) along the Catalan coast, identifying possible black spots on urban beaches and coastal defense works and infrastructures where the majority of victims are recorded.
iCoast incorporates cartographic information on documented coastal disasters, reference beaches and locations of early warnings and warning devices.
The viewer shows a set of reference beaches where the prediction is made using the iCoast early warning system and constitutes a basic decision-making tool for coastal managers, which also allows defining a series of guidelines and good practices and lessons learned in the recorded interventions.
