Geophysical techniques database

The Geoindex Geophysical techniques viewer provides access to the geophysical database with the zoning of the territory with the Bouguer gravity anomaly (scales 1:500,000 and 1:250,000) and with magnetometry data, the measurement points observed in the different geophysical campaigns carried out (electrical tomography, magnetotelluric, refraction seismic, reflection seismic, geophysical testimony and vertical electrical soundings).

The geophysical model shows the regional component extracted from the Bouguer total gravity anomaly map and reflects the large cortical structures. This regional component is particularly sensitive to the morphology of the discontinuity between the crust and the mantle (Mohorovicic discontinuity). The residual component extracted from the Bouguer total gravity anomaly map reflects the lateral differences in density in the upper crust. Positive anomalies correspond to the existence of high-density rock bodies, and negative anomalies correspond to low-density rock bodies.

The magnetometry represented in the viewer corresponds to a representation of the magnetic anomalies measured on the Earth's surface from the measurement and analysis of gravity. This technique is fundamental for the study of the geometry, structure and composition of the Earth.

The measurement points are shown as points and/or with the traces of the profiles and give the campaign identifier.
