The Toponymy base of Catalonia 1:50.000 can be now downloaded from the ICC website, specifically from the (enllaç no vinculat) webpage..

This base, distributed in Excel format, has a total of 51.950 place names and included coordinates are rounded to the meter.

About the source of the coordinates, there are three classifications, and except that names that have as an attribute in this field the concept element, the rest are always those of the place name located over the map, not those of the element located over the territory.

• Element: When coordinates are those of the point that really identifies the place name. They are the coordinates corresponding municipalities and emblematic peaks of Catalonia.

• 5.000: Point geographic concepts (houses, peaks, sources, historical buildings...). They are the coordinates of the place name at a 1:5.000 scale.

• 50:000: More extensive geographic concepts (places, mountains, orography...). They are the coordinates of the place name at a 1:50.000 scale.
