At the ICGC we incorporate a drone with a state-of-the-art sensor to optimize the prevention of geological risks in Catalonia

We have incorporated a new drone equipped with a state-of-the-art lidar sensor, capable of capturing high-precision data even in areas that are difficult to access. This technology allows us to generate very detailed terrain models and detect changes with great accuracy.

It is an invaluable tool because it allows us to study flash floods and morphological changes in the terrain, as well as improve the monitoring and prevention of geological risks such as landslides, rockfalls, and subsidence, among others. It also strengthens our capacity for anticipation and analysis, improving modeling to predict future events and define more efficient protection measures, with the aim of contributing to the mitigation of the impacts associated with geological risks and strengthening the resilience of the territory to the adverse effects of climate change.
