FIRST CIRCULAR

The Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC), the Conselh Generau d’Aran, the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, Andorra Research and Innovation, and the Association for Snow and Avalanche Knowledge are organizing the 6^th Technical Conference on Snow and Avalanches. The Conference serves as a meeting point for all individuals, whether professionally or personally involved, who are interested in the field of snow and avalanches. This year, the event will take place at the Barcelona headquarters of the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia.

Conference Format
The event will be held over a full day.
In the morning, a series of presentations and lectures will take place, along with a poster session.
In the afternoon, a roundtable will be held addressing accidents and safety in the context of snow and avalanches.
The topics of the presentations and posters are structured into the following thematic areas:

• Mountain Meteorology and Climate Change
• Avalanche Forecasting
• Avalanche Mapping and Dynamics
• Prevention, Planning, and Safety
• Avalanche Education and Outreach
• Snow and Water Resources

Languages
Given the origin of some speakers, the working languages of the Conference will be Catalan and Spanish.

Submission of Presentations and Posters
The submission of posters and presentations is open to everyone. If you are interested in presenting a lecture or a poster, please contact us at jortec@icgc.cat, and we will send you the submission guidelines. The deadline for abstract submission is June 1^st 2026.
