Differences between a topographic base and a topographic map
Topographic base
Set of vector data that collects the characteristics of the land and the physical or apparent elements of a geographic area using elements that are included in the two-dimensional or three-dimensional geometry of the point type, line and polygon, and are classified according to a catalog and are enriched with attributes. The topographic bases are designed for the production of data intended for the management and analysis of geographic information through the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and for the derivation of cartographic products.
Topographic map
Two-dimensional graphic representation of the set of characteristics of the land and of the physical or apparent elements of a geographical area. They are generally obtained by derivation from topographical bases. They can exist in analog or digital format, and in this case the format can be vector or raster.
