Gonzalo de Reparaz Rodríguez-Báez
Gonzalo de Reparaz Rodríguez was a prominent politician, diplomat and Spanish geographer at the end of the 19th century and the first third of the 20th century. He died in exile in Mexico in 1939 and his personal archive was confiscated and deposited at the Archive of the Civil War of Salamanca. The family asked for his return -which became effective in the year 2006- and gave it to the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya in order to bring together with the collection of his son Gonzalo de Reparaz Ruiz (1901-1984) also deposited in the Institut since 2005. The archive is composed of 61 boxes of documentation with letters, handwritten notes, press clippings, etc. of the extended life that includes the stages in Portugal, Madrid, France, Marrueccos, South America, Switzerland and Catalonia.
