Information about the location of springs and fountains of Catalonia
The Catalan Water Agency and the ICGC have developed CercaFonts (Look for Springs), a mobile application which provides information on the location of 5,000 natural springs and fountains distributed throughout the territory of Catalonia. The tool, which is the result of interdepartmental relations, wants to foster collaboration between institutions and users.
It is a free app, which becomes a reference for hikers, to find all kinds of information on the springs, such as the place name, map, coordinates, pictures, use and flow.
CercaFonts provides information on the location of new springs or springs already catalogued and improves the descriptions of the springs collected. It incorporates a viewer that, apart from showing the position of the official springs and those collected by users, shows the user's location. It also offers the possibility of searching for the name of a particular spring or accessing a list that facilitates the search.
